It's a non-animal-based cross-linked dermal filler that restores the face's volume and treats fine lines, wrinkles and augments lips.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally present substance in our body. The highest concentration of hyaluronic acids is present in the fluids of eyes, joints, and skin. Research has proven that injecting a specific amount of hyaluronic acid into aged skin can reduce wrinkles' appearance for about one year. Hyaluronic acid works by holding water at the injection site and provides a cushion to the skin. Hyaluronic acid adds temporary volume to the skin and smooths the skin by working on wrinkles and fine lines.
What are areas Juvederm treats?
Juvederm adds volume to the cheeks.
Juvederm, Juvederm voluma and Juvederm Ultra soften the nasolabial folds of the aged face.
Juvederm Ultra is used to plump the thinner lips.
(Juvederm XC contains lidocaine in it which gives temporary numbness to the targeted area and makes the injection less painful)
How much Juvederm is needed?
Patients typically need one to two syringes of Juvederm, which may exceed three to four. The amount of Juvederm needed depends on the various factors such as age, aesthetic goal of the patient, depth of wrinkles and extent of lip augmentation required by the patient.
How is Juvederm different from the other fillers?
Juvederm is used for wrinkles when the face is still or at rest, whereas the formation of wrinkles when the face is in motion like watching TV, laughing and reading a book may require Botox or Dysport.
Where is Juvederm Ultra Plus used?
Juvederm ultra plus is used for severe wrinkles, nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
Juvederm Voluma XC is used to lift the cheeks by restoring lost volume. It gives youthful curves and position to higher areas of cheek bones in women.
