Laser Tattoo Removal
Tattoos be gone!
Laser Tattoo Removal is the process of removing a permanent tattoo in a specific area using laser technology. It is the safest and most effective method today that is recommended for individuals who want to remove permanent ink from their skin.
The treatment is non-invasive and will not affect the surrounding skin during the procedure.
What is a laser tattoo removal procedure?
Laser tattoo removal works by breaking up the pigment colours of the tattoo with high-intensity laser beams. Black tattoo pigment in tattoo designs absorbs all laser wavelengths, and selective laser wavelengths treat the other colours—The colour of the skin and the depth of tattoo pigments in the skin effect the removal technique. The tattoo removal rate depends upon the Fitzpatrick skin type, tattoo layering, location of the tattoo on the body, pigment colours, amount of ink, and the existing scarring. The removal phenomenon is based on the concept of absorption of light. Some pigments absorb specific wavelengths better than others. Our laser technicians at the eye candy centre make sure to use the laser wavelengths effectively absorbed by the ink they are treating.
How to prepare for laser tattoo removal?
Laser tattoo removal is the lunch break procedure. A candidate who wants to undergo tattoo removal can resume his/her everyday activities before and after the procedure. Here are some essential steps that must be considered before going into laser tattoo removal;
Wash the area properly before coming for the procedure.
It is advised to not thread and wax the area at least three to five days before the treatment.
You must have a good night's sleep a day before the procedure.
The technician will test the skin reaction before starting the procedure to determine the most effective treatment wavelength.
Local anesthesia is applied thirty minutes before the treatment, and the laser machine is held close to the skin while performing the procedure.
You will be given a pair of goggles to shield your eyes against laser beams.

If you are looking for a non-invasive tattoo removal procedure and have thoroughly revised the decision, you have met the tattoo removal's first candidacy criteria. If you are a pregnant and breastfeeding mother, it's not ideal to undergo laser tattoo removal practice.
+ What are the different wavelengths used for laser tattoo removal?
As every patient is different, every tattoo that undergoes laser removal is unique. Expert laser therapists at eye candy Centre know to remove any tattoo regardless of the colour and design of the tattoo. Popular wavelengths for laser tattoo removal are as follow:
- Nd YAG lasers|1064nm, 532nm (90-95% of tattoos are removed by Nd-YAG laser technique)
- Ruby laser |694 nm
- Alexandrite lasers| 755nm
1064 wavelength is ideal for black and dark-coloured tattoos. 532 nm wavelengths are suitable for red and other warm colours like violet, orange, yellow and brown. Ruby laser with a wavelength of 694 nm is ideal for removing blue and green ink and the shades of teal such as turquoise and lime green. 694 wavelengths are also exceptional for removing resistant black colour. 755nm wavelengths are effective and supplemental wavelengths for removing blue, green, and black lines. Eye candy centre is equipped with the full power of three wavelengths laser machines.
